I Have a Crush!

Your crush walks by. From the corner of your eye, you steal a glance, as your heart nearly beats out of your chest. When your crush comes up to say hi, it puts you on cloud nine.

A LOVE STORY

Some call it love, some call it infatuation. It doesn't matter, does it? You're attracted, you feel strongly for your crush, and that's what matters.

There’s just something that makes your heart go a-flutter with excitement and exhilaration.

Why not try going out on a group date? Chances are, there are people whom you know mutually, and you can go beyond the hurried glances and nervous hellos you otherwise exchange.

So have a little faith in yourself. Take a deep breath, go ahead and ask for a date (or, you could ask if they want to “hang out”). You might feel a little awkward, but hey, if you don’t ask, you’ll never get that first outing together!

YOUR FIRST LOVE

We’re going to assume that your crush says yes. You’re dizzy with excitement. What do you do? (Stay positive! It’s not as tough as you might imagine!)

  • Be confident. Don’t worry too much about being good enough. If your crush is out on a date with you, he or she probably likes you already! If you’re on a group date, don’t try too hard to stand out. Just be yourself and let that come through.

  • Take it easy. Don’t go overboard with the planning and don’t try too hard to please. The best game plan is to do something that you both enjoy. Go catch a movie if you’re both movie buffs or indulge yourself at a new café if you’re both coffee lovers. If you’re not sure what your date likes, just ask!
  • Going Dutch? Don’t Worry. You don’t need to pay for everything, nor should you expect everything to be paid for. Keep things simple, don’t raise expectations of each other and go with the flow.
  • To kiss or not to kiss? It’s easier if you just stop worrying about it and enjoy your date. Don’t push for anything that isn’t time yet (when the time comes, you’ll know). Take it easy and let things happen naturally – it’s more important that both of you hit off and like each other first!

When the Evening  Comes to an End

Okay, you’ve made it, you’ve survived. You’ve kept all, if not most, of the rules. If you feel you’ve messed up, don’t fret. Politely ask if you can see each other again, or drop them a call later. We wish you all the best! :)
